Independent science journalism on tropical forest biodiversity.
Deep Canopy was created to explore the extraordinary biodiversity of tropical forests โ the jaguars, poison dart frogs, orchids, harpy eagles, primates, fungi, and thousands of other species that make tropical forests the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. We cover the science of how these species live, interact, and depend on intact forest โ and what their loss means for the functioning of the planet.
Deep Canopy is led by Dr. Valentina Cruz, Tropical Biodiversity Scientist with a PhD from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Our team specialises in tropical ecology, wildlife biology, and conservation science communication.
